Mahatma Gandhi and Indian Paper Money

Introduction

Mahatma Gandhi was a patriot, a statesman (not just a politician), a rebuilder of his country, and a huge moral force. His teachings have been used around the world, from the United States, to the former Soviet Union, to South Africa.
In many ways, Gandhi was a contradiction. He was a poor student, yet he traveled to a foreign university, and graduated. Although he was a shy person, he became used to, and was able to use publicity, and to talk in public. He believed in compromise, but he was able to develop an iron will. He stood like a rock in the middle of many conflicts, forcing the correct decision, even at the risk of his own life.
Gandhi is known by his ideas- simplicity, equality, rights with responsibilities, non-violence, compromise when possible, but always standing up for the right conclusion. His ways of peaceful non-violent protest have been used all over the world. He wanted to improve the life of everyone, and believed in education and hygiene to help.

History will be written on the next page, as I think the pictures have pushed the text out of the page- (just guessing, as this is only my third posting on this blog)-

coinsnpaper- My first post

My first post. I sell money (coins and paper, so my name is coinsnpaper) on e-bay. I meet many interesting people through this work. (Or should I say that I meet many interesting people that are at least as crazy as I am through this work?) Anyways, at the last coin show I attended, I met a 77 year old man- long white hair, long white beard, who came from the North end of Vancouver Island. He had his credit card used to the tune of $17,000. He could not prove who did it, other than to know it was not him, but he is being held responsible, and he must repay it. He gave me a couple of items that he produces, which are the first of the new $1 coins, and the last of the $1 bills, as one set, and the first of the new $2 coins, and the last of the $2 bills, as a second set. He sells these to visitors to his home village for $10 each. I have got them listed on ebay this week as "Canada First $1 coin 1987 Last $1 bill 1973 HELP PLEASE", and Canada First $2 coin 1996 Last $2 Bill 1988 HELP PLEASE". If you are interested in bidding, or in helping this chap out, please visit my store at http://stores.ebay.ca/coinsnpaper?refid=stores and you should be able to find them, as well as sone of the other items I have for sale. I will be giving all proceeds less my costs back to the gentleman.
